Your article is a real joy to me. I have been engaged in this fight since I met the Lord in 1974 in the Episcopal church. But it's the same fight in all the denominations. The spectator model is what the congregations want. And the leadership thinks that's a biblical stance. So, thank you.

I may come at it from a different angle, perhaps, but we may be saying similar things. The one issue I think we are not understanding today is that the church is stuck in the 'transition' Age that I believe passed away and was passing away between 30-70 AD. This is a key issue to be understand, imo. Anyway my thoughts here for your consideration.
You must remember Sergio the willingness to challenge longstanding tradition started with Jesus who challenged the corrupt religion of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
