Fulfilled means “brought to completion in Messiah,” not “made obsolete as instruction”
There's a lot to unpack here, but that line really jumped out. That's an important distinction many of us miss. Instruction isn't obsolete because it CAN'T become obsolete. Not in a fallen world. Pride might have a different point of view, but we see where that got us.
Most are confused about "the Jews" and "the Law" because the modern Gospel is built on the false theory of Penal Substitution Atonement. They consider Jesus died in our place so we can go scot-free. No more Law or consequence to breaking it, and all "the Jews" are bad for trying to uphold it. The logical result is that the Church has substituted "the Jews" and the Torah has been substituted by grace.
Only that Yeshua didn't go to the cross so that we don't have to go to ours. He came and identified with our sin, embraced us in Himself and thrugh our union with Him by picking up our own cross, He will take us us into resurrected life. He died FOR us to protect us from it's power and bring all of us who dare to follow Him through the valley of death to the other side into His kingdom. The Law remains, only now it's a delight to follow and "the Jews" are not replaced but we are now united together as God's people, Israel.
