One of the saddest things I witness in my social interactions is the complete lack of a personal conversational relationship with the Lord by anyone. It’s especially poignant with people who I know are strong believers. All they’ll do is talk about Him, formally. Most of the problem is the lack of clear teaching.
In the institutional church, what I am talking about is radical heresy. God does not talk to people anymore. That’s crazy person talk. My response is (internally), “You just don’t know HaShem.” That’s recent, but I now love calling Him HaShem when I write about Him. But I just pulled myself up short and asked, “How do you feel about being about being called HaShem?”
His response? “That’s far too formal.” So, I guess I’ll keep it for audiences like this one.
Why was the universe created?
Again, this is a relatively recent discovery for me. It came about while I was writing my 15-novel saga about living as true believers. I needed to come up with a compelling new philosophy for the recently reborn philosophy professors at a prestigious Norwegian Lutheran College.
Biblical Reality
It begins with: •I am• is all there was at the beginning—as if there can be a beginning for an eternal God. •I am• decided that He would create a family and friends.
•I am• made an image of Himself: He had to make a way for His new creation to relate to Him.
Through His image He created the universe: His image was the origination of 3D reality.
From the created matter He created Man in His Image: male and female He created them, giving them life.
Mankind chose to sin and separated themselves from •I am•: It was necessary for man to be separated from •I am• to have the opportunity to choose to love •I am•.
The Image of God became a man and lived among us: This man had •I am• as His direct father, because •I am• fertilized the egg in Mary. By living a sinless life, the image of God died to redeem Man, and resurrected as Messiah.
Then after repentance, Man as an individual can choose to know the Messiah: But •I am• knew that Man could not do it without direct help.
So, Yeshua Messiah asked the Father to send the Holy Spirit to enable Mankind to choose, and to live inside the reborn believers writing the Torah on their heart and enabling them to live the life.
I’ve written extensively about all of this on my Biblical Reality Substack. But what I want to cover in this article is the simple fact that the Holy Spirit (the presence of HaShem within) is only hinted at in the Tanakh. Before Yeshua came, it didn’t exist. The Father’s desire to have direct fellowship and friendship with His people is also only hinted at.
You can see the relationship in David in the Psalms. But somehow, the Fact that •I am• is our Father and Husband does not ever include a warm, loving, close personal and conversational relationship. Yeshua has made it clear to me that this is His desire. But, let’s face it. No one is afraid to mention the actual name of a father and friend who is dearly loved.
I’ve mentioned several times that in my conversations with the Lord, the Father, the Messiah, and the Holy Spirit are all there as one. Sometimes I talk them by individual names, but they are all One. But •I am• is my closest friend by far, in all His glory.
Here’s a few verses:
Isaiah 30: 19 Yea, O people in Zion who dwell at Jerusalem; you shall weep no more. He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry; when he hears it, he will answer you. 20 And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your Teacher will not hide himself any more, but your eyes shall see your Teacher. 21 And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.
Deuteronomy 10: 20 You are to fear Adonai your God, serve him, cling to him and swear by his name. When I am clinging to the Lord I am not some sort of disreputable appendage. I love Him. And He loves me. Close, intimate, love.
My problem is that I have always expected that out of friendships. But only Yeshua can do that—and the Father, of course. No wonder I have so much trouble relating to people. I did develop this kind of relationship with my blood father when I was reborn.
But Jesus simply rejoices in this type of relationship. What a joy He is. He knows how to have fun. And He is very funny.
Jesus provided this when He asked the Father to send the Holy Spirit
It’s supposed to be part of the package. Ask (out loud), “Jesus (or whatever name you prefer), please show me how to talk with you and how to become your friend.” He’ll do it with joy. It might take a while to get through your habitual built up responses. But if you persist, you’ll overcome yourself by His grace and have a real relationship.
Rejoice in the Lord always, again I say, Rejoice!
